Alyssa Pilkington earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Saint Joseph and is a certified Physician Assistant with a strong commitment to women’s health. At Charter Oak Health Center, she is proud to provide consistent, high-quality care to the community in a compassionate and supportive environment. Alyssa offers a comprehensive range of services, including preconception counseling, prenatal and postpartum care, contraception counseling, LARC insertions, annual gynecologic exams, and problem-focused care, all tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Meghan Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Hofstra University. She is a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) and Nexplanon certified. Meghan has been serving the Charter Oak Health Center community for over three years, working in both Internal Medicine and Women’s Health. She is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care and is deeply committed to the well-being of the patients she serves.
Dr. Amina Ahmed, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with over 30 years of experience in women’s health. She completed her medical training at Sinai Hospital of Detroit and became board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1993. Throughout her career, Dr. Ahmed has remained committed to advancing her knowledge and skills while providing compassionate care to women across the United States and internationally.
Dr. Ahmed is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists since 1994. She is also a Life Member of the American Medical Association and is licensed to practice in multiple states, including Connecticut. Her work in diverse communities reflects her dedication to accessible, high-quality care for women of all backgrounds.
At Charter Oak Health Center’s Women’s Health Center, Dr. Ahmed is proud to be part of an organization whose mission aligns with her passion for service and community health. She and her team provide comprehensive obstetrical care, including prenatal and postpartum services, as well as a full range of gynecological services tailored for every stage of life, from adolescence through menopause. These services include birth control counseling, evaluation and treatment of menstrual problems, breast concerns, infections, menopausal issues, and genetic testing. When specialized care is needed, Dr. Ahmed collaborates with trusted local specialists to ensure her patients receive seamless, coordinated, and high-quality care.
Jeannine Maytan earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in 2016, where she was honored with the Sr. Berenice Beck Award. She is a Certified Nurse Midwife through the American Midwifery Certification Board and is licensed in the state of Connecticut as both a midwife with prescriptive privileges and a registered nurse. As a nurse midwife at Charter Oak Health Center, Jeannine is dedicated to serving a diverse, largely immigrant population with compassion and respect. She builds trust through meaningful connections and shared experiences, centering her care on education, partnership, and evidence-based practices that empower individuals to better understand and care for their bodies.
