Dr. Luis F. Diez-Morales serves as Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President of Charter Oak Health Center, where he provides strategic leadership and clinical oversight to ensure high-quality, equitable care across the organization. With a distinguished career spanning decades in internal medicine and endocrinology, Dr. Diez-Morales is widely recognized for his commitment to advancing health equity and improving outcomes for underserved populations.
Prior to joining Charter Oak, Dr. Diez-Morales held several senior leadership roles at Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center, including Director of Medical Ambulatory Services and Systems Medical Director of Ambulatory Services. He also served as Medical Director of the Curtis D. Robinson Men’s Health Institute and The Center for Health Equity, where he championed initiatives focused on eliminating disparities in care for minority and marginalized communities. Additionally, he chaired the hospital’s Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee, reinforcing his commitment to professional development and clinical excellence.
Born and raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Dr. Diez-Morales attended Notre Dame High School before earning both his undergraduate degree and medical doctorate from the University of Puerto Rico. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Wayne State University, where he was appointed Chief Resident, and went on to complete a fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Connecticut.
