Charter Oak Health Center, Inc. to Host Series of Events in Honor of National Health Center Week.

In honor of National Health Center Week (August 6-12) Charter Oak Health Center is hosting a series of themed events to commemorate those in the community who make the Hartford-based health center’s work possible. This year’s theme, The Roadmap to a Stronger America, will be a weeklong journey full of public events, tours, community service, and more. We hope you join us!

 

Healthcare for the Homeless – Monday, August 7

Location: South Green/ Barnard Park – Hartford

Time:  8:30am – 12:00pm 

Charter Oak Health Center Inc.’s mobile medical and dental van will be visiting an area of Hartford with a high population of individuals experiencing homelessness, and will also be providing health screenings and onsite appointments. Charter Oak Health Center Inc. workers will also be distributing hygiene kits to those who want or need them.

 

Agricultural Worker Health Center Day – Tuesday, August 8

Location: Surrounding area & neighborhood of 21 Grand Street Location

Charter Oak Health Center, Inc. employees will participate in a team-building exercise and community service by beautifying the surrounding neighborhood of 21 Grand Street.

 

Patient Appreciation Day – Wednesday, August 9 

Location: Charter Oak Health Center (21 Grand St., Hartford)

Time:  10:00am – 3:00pm

Charter Oak Health Center, Inc. invites the public to its 21 Grand Street location for its Community Health and Wellness Fair. The event celebrates 45 years of Charter Oak Health Center, Inc. service and our patients.  The day will be filled with a live radio broadcast, music, food, and fun activities for the entire family. The fair will also include an official declaration from the City of Hartford.

 

Stakeholder Appreciation Day – Thursday, August 10

Location: Charter Oak Health Center (21 Grand St., Hartford)

Charter Oak health Center, Inc. will honor our stakeholders for their support of our work and of the community. At 6:30pm Charter Oak Health Center, Inc. President and CEO, Nichelle A. Mullins, Esq., will moderate a Mayoral Forum on healthcare.

 

Staff Appreciation Day  – Friday, August 11 

Location: Charter Oak Health Center (21 Grand St., Hartford)

To honor amazing individuals who help Charter Oak Health Center, Inc. provide the greatest level of patient care, Charter Oak Health Center, Inc.  will provide a variety of food trucks, music, games, and raffles for the hard working, committed employees of Charter Oak Health Center, Inc.

 

Children’s Health Day – Saturday, August 12

Location: Charter Oak Health Center (21 Grand St., Hartford)

Time: 8:30am – 2:00pm

Charter Oak Health Center, Inc. pediatric department will be providing back-to-school physicals and immunizations.  All pediatric patients will receive a backpack containing school supplies, and fun activities.

National Health Center Week is an opportunity to highlight the commitment and passion of Community Health Center staff, board members, and supporters who make it possible to provide quality, comprehensive healthcare services to more than 30 million patients across 14,500 communities annually.
